Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alik Yaqhar (ranked 2594 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Anderson (ranked 5937 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alik Yaqhar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mark Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yaqhar tries to clinch but Anderson moves away
letting Anderson counter with a right hand.
Yaqhar jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Yaqhar throws a hook to the side of Anderson's head but Anderson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Anderson goes for a double leg but Yaqhar avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Yaqhar continues to drive forward.
Anderson has a takedown stuffed.
Yaqhar looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Anderson unleashes a big counter combination but Yaqhar bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Yaqhar misses with a looping left.
A big left from Yaqhar misses.
Yaqhar throws a body shot but no joy.
Anderson closes the distance and clinches up with Yaqhar, looking for a takedown. Anderson pushes Yaqhar against the cage but Yaqhar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Alik Yaqhar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Anderson.
Yaqhar throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Anderson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Yaqhar will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anderson shoots for a double leg takedown but Yaqhar sprawls well. He's pushed Anderson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Yaqhar. Anderson does a little dance to reset his feet.

Yaqhar darts in and clinches Anderson up against the cage.
Anderson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Yaqhar is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Anderson pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Yaqhar gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Anderson.

Yaqhar jumps into guard, dragging Anderson to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yaqhar manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Yaqhar looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Anderson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Yaqhar is fending him off so far but Anderson persists. Nope, Yaqhar circles away and we're back to standing.
Yaqhar missing with a left hand there. Anderson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Yaqhar has managed to clinch.

Yaqhar keeps control of Anderson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Yaqhar breaks the clinch.
Yaqhar listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.


It looks like Mark Anderson has been cut.
Yaqhar lands with a right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Anderson has managed to clinch.
Yaqhar wants to take the fight to the mat but Anderson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Anderson tries for a takedown. No joy.
Anderson is looking to control Yaqhar's arms but Yaqhar gets an underhook and turns him. Now Anderson has his back to the cage.

Anderson moves in looking to clinch but Yaqhar pushes him off.
Yaqhar scores with a leg kick.
Anderson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Yaqhar misses with a series of wild punches.
Anderson looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Yaqhar throws a looping overhand right but Anderson ducks down to avoid it.
Anderson is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Yaqhar is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Anderson lands with a nice combination. Yaqhar backs away looking to recover.
Yaqhar misses with a series of wild punches.
Anderson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yaqhar tries to avoid it but Anderson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yaqhar to the ground. Yaqhar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Yaqhar throws a left and a right that both miss
and Anderson counters with a big head kick but Yaqhar shrugs it off.
Yaqhar misses with an uppercut. Anderson saw that one coming.
Anderson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Yaqhar tries to clinch but Anderson moves out of range.
Alik Yaqhar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Anderson throws a sloppy head kick and Yaqhar moves out of range easily.
Anderson avoids the head kick by Yaqhar.
Yaqhar throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Anderson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Anderson scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Anderson fails with the takedown.
Anderson shoots in for a takedown but Yaqhar shows good takedown defense.
Anderson looks winded!
Yaqhar throws a hook to the side of Anderson's head but Anderson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Anderson is looking for the big counter here.

Anderson clinches up with Yaqhar and pushes him back against the cage.
Anderson has Yaqhar pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Yaqhar manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Anderson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Yaqhar throws a shot from downtown. Anderson moves away and avoids it.
A slow jab from Yaqhar misses its intended target.
Anderson feints the counter takedown.
Yaqhar looks to land a combination but Anderson avoids it well.
Yaqhar throws a body shot but no joy.

Anderson has closed the distance and engaged Yaqhar in a clinch.
Anderson is pressed up against the cage. Yaqhar has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Anderson down to the mat. Anderson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Yaqhar tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Anderson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Anderson wants to clinch up but Yaqhar keeps it at a distance.

Yaqhar throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Anderson scores with a hook to the body. Yaqhar takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Anderson's corner calls for a 1-2. Anderson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Yaqhar throws out a loose jab but Anderson uses good head movement to avoid it.

Anderson goes for a double leg but Yaqhar avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Yaqhar continues to drive forward.

Yaqhar clinches.

Anderson has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Yaqhar clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Anderson is trying to stick to Yaqhar's back but Yaqhar is turning into Anderson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Anderson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Yaqhar.
Yaqhar stays in close to Anderson's body and controls the position.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Yaqhar's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Anderson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yaqhar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Yaqhar lands a couple of elbows.
Anderson wants to stand and escape but Yaqhar is having none of it.
Anderson keeping moving, preventing Yaqhar from controlling successfully.
Anderson pulls Yaqhar in close to his closed guard and prevents Yaqhar from doing any damage or advancing position.
Yaqhar trying to control but Anderson is working from the bottom.

Anderson looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Yaqhar passes into side control.
Anderson is breathing heavily.
Yaqhar creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.


Anderson is rocked!

Anderson wants to get back to his feet.

Yaqhar decides to stand up, so the ref orders Anderson to his feet.
Donk. Anderson catches Yaqhar right on the button with a cross.
Anderson fails with a takedown attempt.
Alik Yaqhar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Anderson.
Anderson lands with a nice body kick.
Yaqhar plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Anderson swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Anderson face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Alik Yaqhar!
A very excited looking Alik Yaqhar rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
