Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Dominique Kennedy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Charleston Cockney!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cockney dives in and scores a takedown into Kennedy's guard.

Kennedy manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Cockney rushes Kennedy and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kennedy goes for a takedown attempt but Cockney pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Cockney fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kennedy to the ground. Cockney is now in Kennedy's guard.
Kennedy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cockney trying to control but Kennedy is working from the bottom.
Cockney must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kennedy wants to sweep here but Cockney controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cockney drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kennedy looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kennedy looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kennedy!

Cockney is looking for a sweep.
Kennedy connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Cockney some visible discomfort.

Kennedy decides to stand up, so the ref orders Cockney to his feet.

Kennedy gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cockney to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Cockney is looking to pass into half guard but Kennedy pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Kennedy is in guard.

Cockney has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Cockney wants to stand and escape but Kennedy is having none of it.

Kennedy stands and steps away. Cockney gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Cockney is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kennedy can't fight it off and eventually Cockney manages to take the fight to the floor. Kennedy looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Cockney is fighting to break Kennedy's control of his arms but Kennedy is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Cockney throws a strike but Kennedy rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Cockney has his foot on Kennedy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kennedy works his way back into a safe position though.

Kennedy seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Cockney clinches up with Kennedy and pushes him back against the cage.

Cockney gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Cockney seems to be looking for submissions.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kennedy is looking for a sweep. Cockney is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Cockney is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Kennedy reverses the position - he's now on top in Cockney's guard.
Kennedy not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Kennedy decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cockney, up you get!

Kennedy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Cockney.

Kennedy bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Cockney moves into the clinch successfully.
Kennedy is working for takedown but Cockney is calmly controlling the position for now.

Kennedy jumps into guard, dragging Cockney to the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kennedy is looking for a triangle but Cockney pushes his legs off easily.
Kennedy wants to get back to his feet but Cockney is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Cockney passes Kennedy's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Cockney is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kennedy is just riding it out for now. Cockney eventually gives up the hold.
Dominique Kennedy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kennedy manages to get to full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kennedy not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cockney accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Cockney won't allow Kennedy to sweep him here.
Cockney postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Cockney is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Cockney looking to sit in guard and control but Kennedy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Cockney is trying to keep Kennedy in close.
Kennedy's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Cockney working a defensive guard but Kennedy passes into half guard.
Cockney is trying to get back to full guard.
Kennedy stops Cockney from getting back to his feet.
Cockney tries to get to full guard but Kennedy has control of the leg.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Kennedy tries to sprawl but Cockney drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Kennedy has one foot on Cockney's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Kennedy dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Cockney shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kennedy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Cockney pulls guard successfully.

Cockney wants to control but Kennedy is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Cockney shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kennedy napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Charleston Cockney comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
