Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hal Jordan (ranked 1285 p4p, 158 weight class) and Borrachinha Costa (ranked 2522 p4p, 295 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hal Jordan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Borrachinha Costa !
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Costa misses with a takedown
and Jordan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Nice straight punches there by Jordan. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Jordan.
Costa tries for a takedown but Jordan circles away easily
and Jordan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Donk. Jordan catches Costa right on the button with a cross.
Jordan scores with a hook to the body. Costa takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hal Jordan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Borrachinha Costa .

enabling Jordan to counter with a crisp jab.

Jordan throws out a loose jab but Costa uses good head movement to avoid it.

A decent looking cross lands there for Jordan.
Jordan looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Costa takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Costa ducks right into an uppercut from Jordan.
Costa shoots for a takedown but Jordan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jordan lands a really nice looking cross but Costa seems unphased.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Good exchange - Jordan coming out on top.
Jordan is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Jordan works the jab nicely.
Jordan tests Costa 's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jordan thuds his right hand into Costa 's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Hal Jordan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jordan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Costa at a distance.
Jordan is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Jordan throws out a loose jab but Costa uses good head movement to avoid it.

Jordan cracks a nice hook into Costa 's ribs.
Costa takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Jordan throws a hook to the side of Costa 's head but Costa sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

enabling Jordan to counter with a crisp jab.
Costa takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jordan misses with a right hand

and Costa decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jordan's guard.

Costa is looking to work some ground and pound but Jordan has wrist control.
Costa throws an elbow that misses. Jordan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Costa 's guard. Nice move by Jordan!


Costa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jordan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jordan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Costa looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Costa is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jordan defends well.
Jordan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jordan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Costa swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jordan wants to get up but he can't break Costa 's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Jordan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Costa has his foot on Jordan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jordan works his way back into a safe position though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Costa looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jordan has picked Costa up and slammed him! Costa can't keep hold of the triangle and Jordan manages to pass to side control!

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Borrachinha Costa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Costa takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Jordan bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Costa 's head backwards.

Jordan is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jordan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Costa looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Costa displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jordan throws out the jab.
Jordan stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Jordan digs a good body shot into Costa 's ribs.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hal Jordan showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Jordan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
