Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bennett Kent (ranked 5912 p4p, 0 weight class) and Isajah Free (ranked 7428 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Sam Margolis and Donald Grub.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kent throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Free's waist but Free gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kent off to one side.

Kent has Free up against the cage in a clinch.

Free uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kent.
Free wants to counter the offense by Kent and move into the clinch position.
Free stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Free wants it to stay on the feet.

Kent fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Free avoids it really well and circles away.

Free postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kent is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Free, into his guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Free holds on and takes a little breather.
Free preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Kent would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Free has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Kent tries to close the distance and clinch up but Free swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Free has managed to clinch.

Kent manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Free decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kent, up you get!
Kent shoots in looking for a takedown but Free manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kent's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Free is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kent's half guard.

Free is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Free throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Free closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Free ducks under a wild hook from Kent.
Kent chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Free can pounce on him.

Isajah Free is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Free throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kent works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Free is pushing down on Kent's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kent is fighting to maintain full guard but Free has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Free is working for a kimura but Kent is defending it quite comfortably.
Kent is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Free is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Kent could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kent wants to get back to full guard.

Isajah Free showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kent gets caught flat footed, as Free shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Kent looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Free is fending him off so far but Kent persists. Nope, Free circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Free moves into range and clinches up with Kent.

and Kent counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kent throws the left hand but Free avoids the punch easily.

Kent bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Free postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Free is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Free decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kent, up you get!

Kent won't allow Free to pass to mount.

Free moves into full mount! Kent won't be happy about that!

Free has control of Kent's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kent regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Free with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Well Free has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
