Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mukinio Tambua (ranked 1258 p4p, 129 weight class) and Big Mike (ranked 1408 p4p, 143 weight class). Mike has chosen Til I Collapse as his entrance music. Big Mike has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mike slips under a jab.
Tambua connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Tambua shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mike but Mike pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tambua thows a left - swing and a miss!
Tambua looks to throw the jab but Mike is out of range.
Mike doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
A telegraphed right hand from Mike misses the target.

Mike cracks Tambua with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Mike has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Tambua to stand back up!

Tambua shoots for a takedown but Mike saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Tambua is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mike is just riding it out for now. Tambua eventually gives up the hold.

Mike really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tambua. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tambua looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Tambua has control of Mike's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mike regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Mike cracks Tambua with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Big Mike seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Mike throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Tambua postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mike is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tambua, into his guard.

Mukinio Tambua overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tambua is on top in guard.

Tambua sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mike's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mike can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mike pushes Tambua off looking to stand but Tambua dives back in and keeps control.

A very excited looking Mukinio Tambua made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
Big Mike was interviewed post fight and said 'Damn good fight, ready for the next!'.
