Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hector Camacho (ranked 104 p4p, 16 weight class) and Gary Tonon (ranked 163 p4p, 24 weight class). Tonon has chosen What About Now as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 45 - 19 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hector Camacho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gary Tonon!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tonon has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Camacho.
Hector Camacho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tonon uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Camacho.
Despite the aggression on Tonon's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Camacho closes the distance and clinches.
Camacho lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Tonon backwards.
I was talking to Camacho's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Camacho digs a right hand underneath Tonon's ribcage. Tonon let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Tonon has Camacho pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Camacho manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Tonon jumps guard but Camacho stands there with Tonon around his waist. Tonon gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Tonon tries to pull guard but Camacho holds him up against the cage and eventually Tonon drops back down to his feet.
Hector Camacho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gary Tonon.
Camacho cracks Tonon with a nice body shot.
Tonon is trying to pull guard but Camacho has him pressed against the cage.
Tonon goes for a takedown attempt but Camacho pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Camacho gets the takedown into side control.
Camacho trying to control the position but Tonon is working away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tonon is looking to reverse the position.
Tonon dodges the ground and pound from Camacho.
Camacho scores with a couple of short elbows.
Tonon tries to buck Camacho off but Camacho is having none of it.
Camacho lands an elbow.
Camacho wants to control but Tonon is keeping him busy.
Camacho working away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Camacho remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Camacho is trying to ground and pound but Tonon uses the momentary lack of control by Camacho to regain half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tonon wants to improve his position but Camacho is controlling well.
Camacho seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Tonon is staying active underneath Camacho, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Camacho misses with a combination

and Tonon counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Tonon throwing strikes but missing.
Camacho has control of Tonon's left arm, preventing Tonon from doing any damage.
Tonon scoring with punches to the head and body.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Tonon tries to free his leg and advance position but Camacho is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hector Camacho dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Tonon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Camacho sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Tonon rushes Camacho and presses him up against the cage.
Tonon jumps guard but Camacho turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Camacho misses with a punch to the body.
Camacho stalling against the cage.
Camacho lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Camacho scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Camacho lands an uppercut.

Tonon jumps into guard, dragging Camacho to the mat.
Camacho is in close to Tonon's body, working some short punches and elbows.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Camacho is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Camacho seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tonon for as long as he can get away with.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Camacho wants to control from the top but Tonon keeps moving.
Tonon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Camacho controls the pace.
Hector Camacho overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Tonon working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Camacho has passed into half guard!
Camacho thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tonon's head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Still in half guard, Camacho seems content to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tonon gets back to full guard.

Camacho lying in Tonon's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Tonon decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Camacho taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Gary Tonon!
After the big win, Gary Tonon made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Riner Clothing and Laundry (85%) and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
In defeat, Hector Camacho stepped up to the mic, saying 'fuck it's going to shit fast'.
