Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Olin Poole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Wheeler!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wheeler rushes Poole and presses him up against the cage.
Poole tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Poole is trying to pull guard but Wheeler turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Poole fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Olin Poole. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Wheeler pulls guard successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wheeler wants to sweep here but Poole controlling him for the moment.
Poole trying to control but Wheeler is working from the bottom.
Poole really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Wheeler isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Poole stacks Wheeler on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Poole!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Poole tries for a takedown but Wheeler sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Wheeler fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Poole to the ground. Wheeler is now in Poole's guard.
Wheeler wants to stand but Poole has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Poole is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Wheeler wants to get up but he can't break Poole's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Wheeler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Poole has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wheeler has managed to get both his arms back between Poole's legs - danger averted.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Poole fails to land the takedown.
Poole is breathing heavily.
Wheeler throws a wild body kick that Poole sees coming a mile off.

Wheeler darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Wheeler wants to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Poole is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Wheeler dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Wheeler throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Wheeler throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Poole was covering up waiting for the punch and Wheeler finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Poole manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Poole tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Wheeler decides to pull guard.

Wheeler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Poole doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Poole manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Poole postures up in Wheeler's guard and throws a big left but Wheeler blocks it.
Poole is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

As Wheeler tries to get set, Poole tries to push him back and clinch up but Wheeler manages to avoid the attempt.
Olin Poole is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Poole has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wheeler can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well Wheeler has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
