Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Neil Cole (ranked 23886 p4p, 0 weight class) and Murilo Stupramonte (ranked 5946 p4p, 0 weight class). Murilo Stupramonte has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Neil Cole's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Neil Cole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Murilo Stupramonte!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stupramonte shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Stupramonte tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Cole.
Cole really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Still in half guard, Stupramonte seems content to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stupramonte with the ground and pound but Cole uses the opportunity to regain guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cole controls Stupramonte momentarily but Stupramonte frees himself.

Stupramonte has gone for a leg lock! Cole slips out almost immediately though and dives into Stupramonte's guard.

Cole passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Stupramonte has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cole is working away from the top position though.
Cole thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Stupramonte wants to get back to full guard.

Cole wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stupramonte keeps working.
Cole is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Stupramonte is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Cole is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stupramonte doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cole.

Stupramonte wants to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Stupramonte shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cole is trying to defend but Stupramonte finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Cole trying to hold on to Stupramonte's head to control him but Stupramonte postures up.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Stupramonte throws a strike but Cole avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Cole is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stupramonte is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Stupramonte has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Cole escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Cole!
Stupramonte is not content to let Cole control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Stupramonte managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Cole.

A close round but Murilo Stupramonte will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Stupramonte closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Stupramonte lands in his opponent's guard.

Stupramonte is looking to work some ground and pound but Cole has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cole doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Cole managing to control the position.
Stupramonte won't allow Cole to sweep him here.

Stupramonte has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cole is proving hard to escape from.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Stupramonte is looking to pass into half guard but Cole pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Cole is in guard.


Cole stands up and waves to Stupramonte to follow him.
Cole avoids the head kick by Stupramonte.
Cole feinted with a counter takedown.

Cole gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Stupramonte to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Cole is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Stupramonte looking to sit in guard and control but Cole gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Cole is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Murilo Stupramonte has got the better of the ground game so far.
Stupramonte is breathing heavily.

Stupramonte has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Cole is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Stupramonte.
Cole gets to mount! Stupramonte was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Stupramonte is wriggling around trying to escape.
Cole tries to control but Stupramonte wriggling away.

Cole lands a nice shot to the head.

Cole is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

That was a close second round but I would say that Neil Cole will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Murilo Stupramonte seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cole fails with the takedown.
Stupramonte drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Cole defends it well.

Cole drops back looking for a leg! Stupramonte is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stupramonte manages to kick Cole off! Cole jumps back into Stupramonte's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cole looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Cole is trying to control. Stupramonte wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Stupramonte is staying active underneath Cole, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Stupramonte wants to control but Cole passes into side.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Neil Cole.
I think Cole has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
