Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fernando On Rey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Samuel Kain!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

On Rey gets the takedown into side control.
Kain is trying to control On Rey's posture but On Rey avoids it.
Kain taking punishment in the form of punches.
Kain struggling a bit here.
Kain is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kain is trying to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

On Rey is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kain knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Kain tries to bench press On Rey off him but On Rey keeps the position.
Kain being controlled for a moment.
On Rey trying to control the position but Kain is working away.

On Rey has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kain keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Excellent takedown into side control there by On Rey.
On Rey trying to control the position but Kain is working away.
Kain is looking to regain half guard here but On Rey keeps moving and retains side control.

On Rey working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

On Rey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kain keeps working.
Kain is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on On Rey's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Kain is trying to stand back up but On Rey is controlling him

Kain looking for submissions off his back.
On Rey is stalling here. Kain is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! On Rey seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kain has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

On Rey isn't going anywhere.
Kain tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
On Rey is trying to improve his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kain tries to advance to mount but On Rey denies him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Fernando On Rey will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



On Rey clinches.

Kain manages to break the clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Kain jumps guard.
Kain keeping moving, preventing On Rey from controlling successfully.
On Rey trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kain's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kain managing to control the position.

On Rey drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kain looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kain looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kain!

Kain trying to control the action but On Rey is working from the bottom.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
On Rey manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kain's best efforts.
On Rey slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
On Rey is trying to control the position but Kain postures up.
On Rey seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Kain is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Kain trying to control the position from guard on top but On Rey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
On Rey utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

On Rey looking for a triangle here. Kain is fighting it but it looks tight! On Rey pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Kain is tapping out - this one is all over!
