Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rogelio Walton (ranked 5940 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Jones (ranked 3769 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rogelio Walton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Jones!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Bruno Lombardi and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jones enables Walton to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jones manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Walton throws a strike but Jones rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Walton lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.
Jones trying to control but Walton is working from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Walton is on top in guard.

Walton is working Jones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jones has momentary wrist control but Walton slips an elbow through the middle.
Jones is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Walton is controlling him.
Walton throws a big elbow that misses.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Jones isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Walton stacks Jones on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Walton!

Jones wants to control but Walton is keeping busy.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jones wants to improve his position but Walton is controlling well.
Jones regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Walton.

Jones will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Jones is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Walton is trying to pull guard but Jones has him pressed against the cage.
Walton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Jones has picked Walton up - he's going for a ride! Jones dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Walton is looking for a sweep. Jones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Jones is looking to take a break and control but Walton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Walton slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Walton working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jones.
Walton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Walton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Walton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jones defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rogelio Walton will probably get the nod.

Jones throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Walton tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jones is in Walton's guard.
Jones wanted to stand there but Walton had control of the position.
Walton seems keen to control Jones's posture.
Jones in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Walton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Jones won't allow Walton to sweep him here.

Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Walton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Walton wants to get back to his feet but Jones is dominant here and he's now got Walton's back!

Jones is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Walton defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Walton is working hard here to advance position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones looking for the choke from the back.
Jones doesn't have the hooks in and Walton manages to turn into his guard.

Walton avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Walton lands a couple of elbows.
Walton connects with a couple of short punches.
Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Walton manages to get himself to full guard.


That's four minutes gone in the round.

Walton is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well.
Walton looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Bob Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.
Walton wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Jones is now in half guard.
Walton is controlling Jones's trapped leg to prevent Jones from advancing to side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Jones seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Jones turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Walton bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Walton successfully pulls guard.
Walton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jones wants to get back to his feet.
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Walton lands with a punch from half guard.
Nice strikes from Walton there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones is trying to maintain the position but Walton is very close to passing his half guard.

Walton decides to stand and escape the position.
Jones tries to clinch there but Walton circles away.

Walton moves into the clinch.

Jones pulls guard successfully.
Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Walton's guard.


Walton is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Jones in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Walton has hold of Jones's hands but Jones slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Jones scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Walton regains full guard. Nicely done.

Jones works over Walton with some ground and pound from guard.
Walton keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
Walton looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Rogelio Walton showed his dominance in that final round.
