Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shupe tries to clinch but Makana moves out of range.

Makana gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shupe to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Makana punching from the bottom - just letting Shupe know he's still in a fight.
Shupe cracks Makana with a solid left hand.
Makana has a closed guard, preventing Shupe from standing up.
Makana manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Shupe manages to get himself to full guard.

Shupe is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Makana is aware though and is defending well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shupe can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Makana stands and steps away. Shupe gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Makana closes the distance and pushes Shupe back into the cage.
Makana wants to get back to striking at distance but Shupe won't allow it.

Makana manages to pull guard.
Shupe lands a couple of elbows.

Shupe is sitting in close to Makana's body. Makana has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Shupe is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Shupe is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Makana.
