The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takemura uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Said.
Takemura stuffs the takedown attempt from Said. Said gets slowly back to his feet.

Said shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Takemura wants to stand and escape but Said is having none of it.
Said wants to pass the guard but Takemura is keeping the position.
Said postures up in Takemura's guard and throws a big left but Takemura blocks it.
Said is looking to work some ground and pound but Takemura has wrist control.
Takemura is looking to stand up but Said isn't so interested in that idea.
Takemura is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Said throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Takemura avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Takemura is looking to clinch.
Takemura tries to clinch there but Said circles away.
Said swats away the attempt to clinch by Takemura.
Said tries for a takedown but Takemura sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Said bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Takemura avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Said.
The ground and pound from Said seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Said creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Takemura sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Takemura dodges the ground and pound from Said.

Said in side control, throwing shots but Takemura defends.
Takemura takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Said postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
An elbow from Said crashes against the mat.
Takemura defending against the ground and pound.
Said is trying to ground and pound but Takemura uses the momentary lack of control by Said to regain half guard.
Said thows a huge punch but Takemura dodges it nicely.
Takemura looks gassed!

Takemura keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Said throws a strike but Takemura avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Said throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Takemura works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Said looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Said stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Takemura swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Said accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Said distracts Takemura with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Said's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Takemura preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Takemura keeping full guard, as Said tries to pass.
Said lands a couple of digs.
Said throwing strikes but missing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Said trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Said stands up over Takemura, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kareem Said dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Said looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Said lands a nice short elbow.
Takemura keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Takemura is trying to control but can't.
Said thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Takemura's head.
Said working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Said passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Takemura!
Said scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Takemura?
Takemura is breathing heavily.

Said postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Takemura looks a forlorn figure.
Said dominating with strikes here.
Takemura really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Said. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Said lands a big elbow.
Takemura in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Takemura is rocked!
Takemura takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Said's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
