Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chukwumo Viwako (ranked 5945 p4p, 0 weight class) and Assan Karim Chorr (ranked 5941 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Viwako shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Chorr pinned against the cage. Chorr gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Viwako counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Chorr wants a takedown but no success here.
Chorr is pressed up against the cage. Viwako has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Chorr down to the mat. Chorr avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Viwako is controlling the pace.
Viwako seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Chorr for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Chorr fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Viwako manages to avoid it.

Viwako has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Chorr after a bit of a struggle.

Viwako is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Viwako is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Chorr is looking to stand up but Viwako won't let him.

Viwako on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Viwako tries to get out of the position.

Viwako has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Chorr's body.

Viwako is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Chorr has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Chorr manages to reverse the position and now he's in Viwako's guard. Nice work there by Chorr.

Viwako closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Viwako has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Chorr regains guard immediately.

Viwako drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Chorr manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Viwako has Chorr in his guard.

Chorr is looking to control Viwako's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Chorr avoid being mounted?
