Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Jones!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Columbo Gatti and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walsh clinches up against the cage.
Walsh slows down the pace here.

Jones has picked Walsh up - he's going for a ride! Jones dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Jones scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Walsh desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Jones is working for a kimura but Walsh is defending it quite comfortably.
Walsh preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Walsh could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walsh tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Walsh is squirming around, avoiding Jones's attempts to control the action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones avoids the attempt from Walsh to control.
Jones lands a big shot there that rocks Walsh but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Walsh might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Jones has control of Walsh's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Walsh regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Walsh is squirming around, avoiding Jones's attempts to control the action.
Walsh looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Walsh covers up after that shot from Jones.

Walsh wants to escape the position.
Walsh looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Walsh is holding onto Jones's left hand, preventing any choke attempts.

Jones working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Jones gets his hands free as Walsh looks to control.
Walsh tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Walsh is breathing heavily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Walsh is looking to improve his position but Jones isn't that keen on the idea.
Jones can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Walsh is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Jones dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Walsh.
Walsh throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Jones has managed to clinch.
Walsh tries to pull guard but Jones forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Walsh lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Jones has Walsh pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Walsh pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Jones shoots in and bounces Walsh off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Walsh keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.

Jones won't allow Walsh to sweep him here.
Walsh managing to control the position.
Jones cracks Walsh with a solid left hand.
Walsh is pulling down on Jones's head. It's preventing any offense from Jones, at least for the moment.
Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Walsh is retaining full guard.
Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Walsh has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jones is sitting in close to Walsh's body. Walsh has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Jones is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Jones is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Walsh.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Reggie Walsh!
