The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgee displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Theron.
Mcgee drops down looking for a counter takedown but Theron sprawls and moves away.
Mcgee throws a series of punches but Theron moves out of range.
Theron shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mcgee as he avoids it easily.
Mcgee appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Theron gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Mcgee counters by clinching up.
Spencer Mcgee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johan Theron.
Mcgee drops down looking for an ankle pick but Theron pulls his leg out and moves away.
Mcgee takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

It looks like Spencer Mcgee has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mcgee goes for a takedown attempt but Theron pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Mcgee walks straight into a right hand from Theron - that's dropped him! Theron jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Mcgee from any more punishment! Mcgee complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
