Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ricky Bobby!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCafferty darts in looking for a takedown but Bobby gets double underhooks and turns McCafferty into the cage.
Bobby shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McCafferty but McCafferty pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Bobby defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McCafferty.

Bobby closes the distance and clinches.
Bobby gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from McCafferty.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean McCafferty. That's going to take a lot out of him.

McCafferty drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bobby pulls his leg out and moves away.
McCafferty misses with a takedown attempt - Bobby sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Bobby changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McCafferty tries to avoid it but Bobby manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McCafferty to the ground. McCafferty escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
McCafferty displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bobby.
McCafferty moves in looking to clinch but Bobby pushes him off.

Bobby kicks McCafferty off and gets to his feet.
McCafferty will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
McCafferty shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bobby as he jumps to the side.
As McCafferty backs off Bobby throws a huge counter combo but McCafferty manages to avoid it all.
McCafferty has a takedown stuffed.

Bobby moves into the clinch.
Bobby has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McCafferty is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Bobby wants a takedown but no success here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McCafferty is trying to force a seperation but Bobby has the dominant position.

Bobby manages to pull guard.
Bobby is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bobby is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bobby drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but McCafferty manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bobby has McCafferty in his guard.

Bobby wants to stand and escape but McCafferty is having none of it.

McCafferty sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bobby's guard.
Bobby is looking to improve his position.
McCafferty is looking to take a break and control but Bobby is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby moves into the clinch.

Bobby gets control of McCafferty's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bobby will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
McCafferty might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bobby looking for a sweep. Not yet Bobby, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bobby has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McCafferty can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McCafferty trying to control the position from guard on top but Bobby is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Bobby is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

McCafferty shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McCafferty throws a series of punches but Bobby moves out of range.
McCafferty fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bobby avoids it really well and circles away.
Bobby slips a jab and a cross from McCafferty.

McCafferty jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bobby walks away with a smile on his face. McCafferty gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

McCafferty shoots in looking for a takedown. Bobby tries to sprawl out of it but McCafferty keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bobby manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Bobby has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bobby tries to score a power double leg takedown but McCafferty sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bobby somewhat.
McCafferty appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

McCafferty tries to keep at a distance but Bobby has taken the fight into the clinch.
McCafferty wants to stall.
Bobby is trying to work for a single leg takedown but McCafferty pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bobby tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McCafferty just stands there and leans against the cage.

McCafferty goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bobby prevents it.

Ricky Bobby showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Bobby closes the distance and pushes McCafferty back into the cage.

Bobby has McCafferty pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Bobby pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending McCafferty tumbling to the mat - Bobby dives into McCafferty's guard.
Bobby is looking to work some ground and pound but McCafferty has wrist control.
Bobby must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bobby is pulling down on McCafferty's head. It's preventing any offense from McCafferty, at least for the moment.

McCafferty is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bobby is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bobby has escaped and now he's on top!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Bobby takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Ricky Bobby seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Bobby goes for a takedown attempt but McCafferty pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

I've got Bobby winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
