Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Argat Khan (ranked 1343 p4p, 169 weight class) and Mario Jones (ranked 957 p4p, 132 weight class). Jones comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Quando Quando Quando kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Jones. Beautiful body shot.
Khan throws a jab but it's blocked by Jones.
Jones checks a leg kick nicely.

Khan chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jones can pounce on him.

Jones tries to clinch but Khan moves out of range.
Khan tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Jones is able to avoid easily.
A nice side step and Jones releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Khan swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones.
Khan throws a low kick, looking for Jones's leg but Jones calmly moves out of range.

A little jabbing left from Jones on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

and Jones counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Argat Khan has been cut.
Jones moves away from the strike by Khan.
Khan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jones.
Khan keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

and Jones holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Jones lands a nice shot to the body.
Jones misses with a short punch on the inside.

Khan makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Khan swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Khan can't find room to land a body shot as Jones controls the action.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

I was talking to Khan's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Khan swings wildly with an uppercut but Jones uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jones seems to have recovered his senses.
Khan misses with a hook from the clinch.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Khan creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Khan lands a big right hand that drops Jones! The killer instinct kicks in and Khan finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Khan!
