Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kent Guerrero (ranked 24569 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinsuke Takahara (ranked 3769 p4p, 0 weight class). Shinsuke Takahara has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kent Guerrero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinsuke Takahara!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Shimada and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Takahara feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Takahara thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Takahara has gone for a leg lock! Guerrero slips out almost immediately though and dives into Takahara's guard.


Takahara is looking for a triangle but Guerrero pushes his legs off easily.

Takahara working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Guerrero doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Guerrero manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Guerrero could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Takahara has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Guerrero can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Takahara can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Guerrero controls the pace.
Guerrero seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Takahara for as long as he can get away with.

Guerrero is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Guerrero has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That was a close round but I would say that Kent Guerrero will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Guerrero throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Takahara was covering up waiting for the punch and Guerrero finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Guerrero is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Guerrero's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Takahara is fighting to break Guerrero's control of his arms but Guerrero is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Takahara drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Guerrero manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Takahara has Guerrero in his guard.
