Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matthew Scanlan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henry Motts!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Motts misses with an uppercut. Scanlan saw that one coming.
Scanlan drops down looking for a counter takedown but Motts sprawls and moves away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Scanlan manages to pull guard.
Motts prevents Scanlan from getting back to his feet.
Scanlan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Scanlan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Scanlan controls Motts momentarily but Motts frees himself.
Motts not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Motts wants to control from the top but Scanlan keeps moving.
Motts should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Motts is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Scanlan wants to stand up but Motts is controlling him.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Motts throws out a loose jab but Scanlan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Scanlan moves out of range of the strikes.
Henry Motts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scanlan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Motts sprawls well. Motts wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Scanlan gets slowly back to his feet.
Scanlan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Motts throws an overhand right that lands on Scanlan's shoulder, as Scanlan tries to avoid the shot.
Motts showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Scanlan.

Scanlan clinches with his opponent.

Scanlan pulls guard effortlessly.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Motts trying to control but Scanlan is working from the bottom.
Motts won't allow Scanlan to sweep him here.
Motts throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Scanlan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Motts seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Motts postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Motts wants to control from the top but Scanlan keeps moving.
Motts stands up over Scanlan, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Motts slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Motts wants to control but Scanlan is keeping him busy.
Motts moves into full mount!

Motts looking to isolate an arm here. Scanlan doesn't see it coming and as Motts extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Motts!
