The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paingiver swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

It looked like Mccullough was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Paingiver can do anything to dispel that myth.

Paingiver shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Mccullough eats them both and turns towards Paingiver to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Horrible takedown attempt by Mccullough or perhaps it was just good defense by Paingiver, which made it look bad.

Mccullough got a little sloppy there for a moment and Paingiver has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mccullough has managed to get both his arms back between Paingiver's legs - danger averted.

Revan Paingiver showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Bryan Mccullough overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Mccullough just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Paingiver looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Mccullough is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
