PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Beacon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Stahl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beacon comes to the cage accompanied by CkY - 96 Quite Bitter Beings. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stahl throws a right and a left that both miss.
Beacon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Beacon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Beacon stops Stahl from standing up.
Beacon passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Beacon tries to advance to mount but Stahl denies him.

Beacon looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Stahl is trying to buck Beacon off.
Stahl is working to avoid the ground and pound but Beacon connects with a decent elbow.
Stahl pushes Beacon away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Beacon gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Beacon looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Stahl!

Beacon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Beacon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Stahl wants to get back to his feet.

Stahl is looking to get back to his feet here but Beacon is keeping cool and he's managed to take Stahl's back.

Beacon is persistently looking for the submission but Stahl is defending it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

and Beacon counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stahl won't be happy with that.
Stahl is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Beacon has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Stahl takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Stahl flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Beacon thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Beacon is trying to control the action in half guard but Stahl is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Beacon with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Stahl looks like he's trying to stand up.
Beacon wants to free his trapped foot but Stahl is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Stahl stalks Beacon and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Beacon's face. Beacon staggers backwards, shaken.
Stahl fails to land with a series of punches.
Stahl throws a head kick that misses
and Beacon counters with a head kick.
Beacon takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Stahl misses with a few strikes there.
Stahl lands a jab-cross combination.

Beacon scores a takedown into full mount!
Beacon controlling the position easily from mount.
Stahl really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Beacon landing punches.
Beacon blocks Stahl's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Stahl's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Beacon is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Stahl can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Beacon looking to ground and pound but Stahl is blocking nicely.
Beacon sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Stahl is trying to stand.
Beacon throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Stahl throws a head kick that Beacon semi-blocks.
Stahl tests Beacon's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Stahl throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Beacon.
Beacon showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Stahl.
Stahl misses with a two punch combination.
Some wild striking there from Stahl.
Beacon closes the distance and clinches up with Stahl, looking for a takedown. Beacon pushes Stahl against the cage but Stahl circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Stahl throws a combination. Beacon tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Stahl looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Stahl is working an open guard so Beacon takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

so Beacon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Stahl can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Beacon controls the pace.
Beacon prevents Stahl from getting back to his feet.
Stahl doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Stahl is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Beacon is controlling him.

Beacon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Beacon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Kevin Beacon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Stahl.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Beacon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
