Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chosu Viv (ranked 3165 p4p, 259 weight class) and Altintop Palonesess (ranked 8330 p4p, 476 weight class). Altintop Palonesess has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Chosu Viv's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palonesess has a takedown stuffed.
Viv dodges the punch combination from Palonesess.

Viv turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Palonesess can't do much from the bottom here.
Palonesess felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Viv had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Palonesess defends it easily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Viv has his foot on Palonesess's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Palonesess works his way back into a safe position though.

Palonesess got a little sloppy there for a moment and Viv has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Palonesess has managed to get both his arms back between Viv's legs - danger averted.

Viv stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Palonesess swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Viv stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Palonesess has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Viv manages to get his head free but now Palonesess has transitioned to an armbar! Viv grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Palonesess! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
