Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vape Diaz (ranked 1658 p4p, 207 weight class) and Joao Vitor Xavier (ranked 2770 p4p, 320 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vape Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joao Vitor Xavier!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Diaz looks to throw the jab but Xavier is out of range.
Diaz walks into a stiff left hand from Xavier.
Xavier misses with a straight right.
Diaz cracks Xavier with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Xavier throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Xavier looks to score with a jab to the body but Diaz is just out of range.
Diaz throws a lazy right hand but Xavier sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Vape Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diaz is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Xavier.
Diaz walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Diaz, as that shot connected.
Diaz takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Xavier cracks a nice hook into Diaz's ribs.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Diaz misses with a body shot.
Diaz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Diaz lands in his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Diaz has gone for a leg lock! Xavier slips out almost immediately though and dives into Diaz's guard.
Diaz is looking to cinch up a triangle. Xavier throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Diaz's body to avoid the submission. Diaz has instead reached around Xavier's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Diaz arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Vape Diaz!
