The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grimm dives in and scores a takedown into Hicks's guard.
Hicks is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Grimm is aware though and is defending well.
Hicks keeping full guard, as Grimm tries to pass.
Hicks is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Grimm is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hicks is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hicks has escaped and now he's on top!
Hicks decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Grimm looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hicks!
Hicks throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Grimm goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Grimm closes the distance and pushes Hicks back into the cage.
Hicks drags the fight down to the ground.
Grimm must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Grimm looking to improve position, pressing down on Hicks's thigh with his hand. Hicks seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Grimm paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Grimm's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Hicks picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
