The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mode is looking to clinch.

Chance changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mode looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Chance knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mode on the ground.

Chance thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Mode is looking to reverse the position.
Mode is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Chance blocks the strikes from Mode.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chance is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mode is staying active underneath Chance, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Chance connects with a nice short shot to Mode's temple.
Chance will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mode is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Chance's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Chance's back!
I really don't envy Chance right now.
