Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jim Kane (ranked 5886 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Eriksen (ranked 5211 p4p, 0 weight class). David Eriksen is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jim Kane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Eriksen!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Eriksen gets tackled into the cage by Kane. Kane maintains the clinch.
Kane stalling the fight.
Eriksen working hard to break the clinch.
Kane tries to land knees in the clinch but Eriksen avoids the damage to the body.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Eriksen just misses with a elbow thrown towards Kane's brow.
Eriksen is trying to pull guard but Kane turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Kane tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Eriksen just stands there and leans against the cage.

Kane escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Eriksen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kane fails to land the takedown.
Eriksen misses with a two punch combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Eriksen gets a clinch.
Kane is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Eriksen to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Kane. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kane fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Eriksen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kane tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Eriksen is able to avoid easily.

Eriksen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kane moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kane showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Eriksen.

Kane closes the distance and pushes Eriksen back into the cage.
Kane blocks an elbow strike from Eriksen.

Kane decides to pull guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Eriksen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Eriksen wants to stand but Kane has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Eriksen stands up from Kane's guard - Eriksen perhaps looking for a knockout.
Kane tries to score a power double leg takedown but Eriksen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kane somewhat.
David Eriksen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Kane has managed to clinch.
Kane is trying to force a seperation but Eriksen has the dominant position.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Kane manages to pull guard.
Kane is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Eriksen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Eriksen trying to control but Kane is working from the bottom.

Eriksen with a flurry of punches that miss.
Eriksen pushing down on Kane's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Kane is trying to control but Eriksen manages to pass to mount!

Eriksen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Kane wants to control but Eriksen is having none of it.
Kane tries to reverse the position but Eriksen maintains control.
Eriksen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Eriksen throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Eriksen swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kane is now in Eriksen's guard. A big mistake from Eriksen there, giving up the dominant position!
Eriksen looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kane trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Eriksen controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but David Eriksen will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Eriksen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Eriksen tries to counter with a clinch but Kane shakes him off and moves away.
Eriksen tries to clinch but Kane is having none of it.
Kane tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Eriksen defends well and Kane ends up having to push Eriksen into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Eriksen throws a nice looking combination but Kane bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kane wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Eriksen throws the left hand but Kane avoids the punch easily.
Kane shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Eriksen but Eriksen pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Kane. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kane tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kane fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Eriksen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Eriksen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Eriksen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kane misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Eriksen.
Eriksen tries to score a body lock takedown but Kane shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Kane gets control of Eriksen's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kane will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Eriksen decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Eriksen fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Eriksen takes the fight into the clinch.
Kane throws an elbow that misses.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Kane is working for takedown but Eriksen is calmly controlling the position for now.
Eriksen is stalling here.
Kane is trying to break the clinch but Eriksen has him pressed against the cage.
Kane tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Eriksen tries to pull guard but Kane forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Kane has had enough of the clinch but Eriksen keeps him there for the moment.
Kane jumps guard but Eriksen stands there with Kane around his waist. Kane gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Eriksen prevents a takedown attempt there.
Eriksen lands a left hand.

Eriksen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Eriksen rushes Kane and presses him up against the cage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Eriksen.
Kane is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Eriksen gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Eriksen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Eriksen throws a push kick but Kane slaps the foot to one side.
Kane tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Eriksen paws at him with a jab and circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kane throws a sloppy head kick
and Eriksen counters with a nice uppercut.
Eriksen pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Eriksen jumps guard and drags Kane to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Kane is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Kane slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Eriksen is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Eriksen is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kane off and has taken his back!

Will Eriksen go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Eriksen is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Kane has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Kane breaks Eriksen's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

David Eriksen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Eriksen doesn't manage to clinch there - Kane circles away.
Kane shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Eriksen sprawls well. Eriksen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kane gets slowly back to his feet.

Jim Kane is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Eriksen misses with a takedown attempt - Kane sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kane looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

A looping hook to the body misses from Eriksen. Kane does a little dance to reset his feet.
And Kane counters with a quick kick to the body but Eriksen blocks it.

David Eriksen seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Kane trying to control the position but instead, Eriksen has worked for underhooks and has pushed Kane into the cage.

Eriksen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Kane throws out a loose jab but Eriksen uses good head movement to avoid it.

Kane went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Kane darts in looking for a takedown but Eriksen gets double underhooks and turns Kane into the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

David Eriksen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Eriksen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
