Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Devin Blackwell (ranked 5843 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Patterson (ranked 8881 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Patterson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Devin Blackwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Patterson!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Blackwell gets a clinch.

Patterson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Blackwell is trying to keep an underhook but Patterson manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Blackwell pulls Patterson in close to prevent any damage.
Blackwell is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Blackwell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Patterson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Patterson passes Blackwell's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Blackwell is looking to control Patterson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Blackwell avoid being mounted?
Patterson wants to pass to mount but Blackwell is defending the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Patterson working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Blackwell's thigh. Blackwell counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Patterson looking to sit in guard and control but Blackwell gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Blackwell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Patterson on the ground.

Patterson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Blackwell manages to get himself to full guard.

Blackwell is pulling down on Patterson's head. It's preventing any offense from Patterson, at least for the moment.

Blackwell looking to hit a scissor sweep but Patterson is one step ahead there.
Blackwell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Blackwell is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Patterson stays in close to Blackwell's body and controls the position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Blackwell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Patterson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Blackwell is trying to defend but Patterson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Blackwell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Patterson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Blackwell manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Patterson has Blackwell in his guard.

Blackwell with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Blackwell working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Blackwell is looking to stand up but Patterson won't let him.

Patterson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blackwell's guard.

Blackwell's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Patterson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blackwell swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Patterson wants to control from the top but Blackwell keeps moving.
Blackwell is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Blackwell controls Patterson momentarily but Patterson frees himself.

Jack Patterson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!

Blackwell is fighting off a takedown attempt but Patterson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Blackwell to the mat. Blackwell regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Patterson wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Blackwell is now in half guard.
Patterson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Blackwell is nestled in close to Patterson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Blackwell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Patterson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Patterson is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Blackwell is staying active.

Blackwell seems to be working for a kimura but Patterson defends the submission attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Blackwell prevents Patterson from improving his position.

Blackwell tries to sprawl but Patterson drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Blackwell is defending against the submission attempts here by Patterson.
Devin Blackwell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jack Patterson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Patterson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

I would just about give that final round to Jack Patterson.
