The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington motions for Gelfen to come forward. Washington throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Gelfen loads up on a big right hand but Washington slips the punch.
Gelfen misses with a body shot.
Sloppy strikes from Gelfen. Those never looked like landing.
Washington was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Washington fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Gelfen is out of range.
Washington blocks the body kick.
Gelfen misses with a left hand
and Washington counters with a nice kick to the body.
Washington throws a low kick but it's checked well by Gelfen.
Washington uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gelfen.
Washington is looking to counter punch.
Gelfen throws a nice looking combination but Washington bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gelfen lands a leg kick that knocks Washington off balance momentarily.
Gelfen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Washington ducks under a wild hook from Gelfen.
Washington appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Washington finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Gelfen misses with a series of wild punches.

Washington takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Washington misses with a straight left.
Gelfen throws a predictable looking body shot
and Washington counters with a nice low kick that buckles Gelfen's knee momentarily.
Gelfen throws a hook to the side of Washington's head but Washington sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Gelfen misses the body punch
and Gelfen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Eddie Gelfen has been cut.
Gelfen throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Gelfen misses with a left hand
and Washington counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Gelfen thinking.
Gelfen looks winded!
Washington keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Washington lands a slapping body shot.
A solid body kick from Washington.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Washington lands a big right hand that sends Gelfen crashing to the mat! Washington stays standing though and waves Gelfen back to his feet!

Gelfen is rocked!
Washington dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gelfen. That did some damage!
A head kick by Washington - that's a beauty! Gelfen is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Washington can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Aaron Washington!
Aaron Washington decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
