The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irons throws a jab but it's blocked by Blik.

Blik bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Blik goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Irons has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Blik but great work by Irons.
Blik tries to buck Irons off but Irons is having none of it.
Irons wants to stand but Blik is controlling his arm.
Blik tries to improve position but can't.
Blik is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Irons scores with a couple of short elbows.
Irons just content to control the position.

Irons goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Blik rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Irons's guard! Nice work there by Blik!
Blik pushing down on Irons's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Blik is working for a kimura but Irons is defending it quite comfortably.

Irons is trying to maintain the position but Blik is very close to passing his half guard.

Irons avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Blik is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Irons pushes Blik off and gets back to his feet.

Irons gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Blik won't allow Irons to get back to his feet.
Irons lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Blik!
Blik is looking to get to half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Irons cracks Blik with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Blik is desperately trying to improve his position but Irons has a good base and remains in mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Irons looking to control and managing it successfully.
Blik is in all sorts of trouble here.

Irons gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Blik gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Blik looks gassed!

Irons gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Irons tries to clinch there but Blik circles away.
Blik on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Irons shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Irons prevents Blik from getting the reversal.
Irons controlling from mount.

Irons get's back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Irons shoots and misses

and Blik counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Irons controls Blik momentarily but Blik frees himself.

Irons is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Irons wants to sweep but no luck.

Irons looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Blik drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Irons manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Blik has Irons in his guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Irons forces his way into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Irons's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Irons fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Blik sprawls well initially but Irons persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Irons is keen to just control but Blik is a slippery customer.
The fighters are battling for position here. Blik manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Irons slips nicely into half guard.
Irons is pressing down on Blik's thigh, looking to free his foot. Blik is holding on for now.

John Henry Irons overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Blik is breathing heavily.

Irons postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Blik looks a forlorn figure.

Irons scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Blik can't escape the position.
Irons controlling the position easily from mount.
Irons seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Blik for as long as he can get away with.

Irons can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Blik is looking to escape.
Blik is working to get back to half guard.

Irons tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Irons wants to control the pace but Blik is squirming around nicely.

Blik has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Irons is trying to keep an underhook but Blik manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Blik seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Irons is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
