Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martel misses with a series of wild punches.
Martel throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Diaz manages to break the clinch.
Martel connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Dwayne Martel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A chopping leg kick lands by Martel.
Diaz keeps the fight on the outside.
Diaz takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Martel closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Diaz is looking to reverse the position.
Martel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diaz on the ground.
Martel is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Diaz's shoulder. That is not cool.
Martel has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Diaz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Martel has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Martel changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Diaz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Diaz takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Martel seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Diaz for as long as he can get away with.
Martel can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Diaz is looking to escape.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Diaz shoots in looking for a takedown. Martel tries to sprawl out of it but Diaz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Martel manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Diaz drops down looking for an ankle pick but Martel pulls his leg out and moves away.

Diaz takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Martel tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diaz lands a glancing blow to the side of Martel's head.

Martel decides to stand back up. Martel steps back and let's Diaz get back to his feet.

so Martel counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
