Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Claude Van Damme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniel Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Claude Van Damme!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Damme lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Daniel Brown has been cut.

Brown closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brown wants to control but Van Damme is keeping him busy.
Brown is really struggling to control Van Damme but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Van Damme is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Brown asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Brown misses with the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Van Damme wants to control but Brown postures up.
Brown prevents Van Damme from escaping the position.
Van Damme is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Brown fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Van Damme sprawls well initially but Brown persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Van Damme can do anything to dispel that myth.

Brown controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Brown wants to stand but Van Damme has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Brown wants to control from the top but Van Damme keeps moving.
Van Damme managing to control the position.
Van Damme really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brown. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brown wants to control from the top but Van Damme keeps moving.
Brown is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Van Damme is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Van Damme is controlling Brown's posture.
Brown trying to control the position from guard on top but Van Damme is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Brown shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Van Damme pinned against the cage. Van Damme gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Brown misses with a body shot.
Van Damme misses with a jab, cross combination.
Brown shoots for a double leg takedown but Van Damme sprawls well. He's pushed Brown's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Brown takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Brown is breathing heavily.
Van Damme scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Brown slips a jab and a cross from Van Damme.
Daniel Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Van Damme throws out a powerful jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jean Claude Van Damme dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Daniel Brown's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Van Damme goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Nice sprawl there from Van Damme as Brown shoots in.
Brown throws a combination that misses
and Van Damme counters with a nice uppercut.


Brown is rocked!
Van Damme fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Oh Brown is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Van Damme bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Brown seems a little lost for a moment, as Van Damme dominates the positioning.

Van Damme stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Brown seems to have got his legs back now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brown drops his hands momentarily and Van Damme takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Van Damme lands a jab to Brown's midsection.
Van Damme lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Brown falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jean Claude Van Damme!
