The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hatton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Benning circles away.
Benning throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hatton sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Benning misses with a body shot.
Hatton with the counter takedown but Benning avoids it easily.
Benning fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Wayne Benning seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hatton uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Benning.

and Hatton counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Hatton is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Hatton seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Benning does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hatton has hold of Benning's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Benning tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hatton cranks the arm and Benning screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Benning, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
