The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beltrao misses with a kick to the body.
Boyer stuffs the takedown attempt from Beltrao. Beltrao gets slowly back to his feet.

and Boyer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Boyer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Boyer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Boyer wants it to stay on the feet.

Beltrao is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Boyer can't fight it off and eventually Beltrao manages to take the fight to the floor. Boyer looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Boyer shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Beltrao napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Boyer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Beltrao controls the pace.
Boyer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Beltrao can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
