Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yuta Kubo (ranked 7336 p4p, 0 weight class) and Salahdine Parnasse (ranked 3589 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Yuta Kubo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Salahdine Parnasse!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kubo jabs Parnasse right on the nose. Parnasse blinks but takes it well.
Kubo blocks a head kick by Parnasse.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Kubo.

Kubo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Parnasse uses from the top position.

Parnasse wants to control but Kubo is keeping him busy.

Parnasse wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kubo, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kubo is looking for a sweep.
Kubo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Parnasse on the ground.

Parnasse wants to stand but Kubo has his arm trapped.

Parnasse wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kubo keeps working.

Kubo is not content to let Parnasse control the position.
Kubo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Parnasse wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Parnasse has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Parnasse tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kubo swivels and escapes.
Parnasse misses with a takedown attempt - Kubo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kubo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Parnasse avoids it really well and circles away.

Parnasse is looking to clinch but Kubo is avoiding it.

Parnasse closes the distance looking to clinch
and Kubo counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Parnasse shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kubo defends it nicely.
Yuta Kubo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Salahdine Parnasse.
Kubo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Parnasse is fending him off so far but Kubo persists. Nope, Parnasse circles away and we're back to standing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Parnasse stuffs the takedown.
Kubo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Parnasse tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Kubo manages to break the clinch.
Kubo closes the distance and clinches up with Parnasse, looking for a takedown. Kubo pushes Parnasse against the cage but Parnasse circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Parnasse shoots in looking for a takedown but Kubo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Parnasse's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kubo throws a nice looking combination but Parnasse bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kubo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Parnasse can do to turn this around?

Parnasse fails to land with a series of punches.
Kubo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Parnasse sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kubo somewhat.
Parnasse shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kubo as he avoids it easily.
Kubo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kubo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Parnasse manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kubo looks for a takedown but Parnasse sprawls well.
Parnasse throws a sloppy head kick and Kubo moves out of range easily.

Parnasse has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kubo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Kubo is trying to drag Parnasse to the mat but Parnasse just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Kubo's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kubo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
