PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dongsu Kim (ranked 4889 p4p, 0 weight class) and Houthaifa Majdeddine (ranked 6338 p4p, 0 weight class). Houthaifa Majdeddine told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Majdeddine.
Horrible takedown attempt by Majdeddine or perhaps it was just good defense by Kim, which made it look bad.
Kim fails to land the takedown.
Kim lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kim jumps guard and drags Majdeddine to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Kim has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kim is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Majdeddine dives in and grabs Kim's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kim pushes down on Majdeddine's head and hops out.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
No joy there for Majdeddine, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
