PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chief Bull (ranked 2858 p4p, 251 weight class) and Timur Lenk (ranked 1370 p4p, 143 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chief Bull!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Timur Lenk!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lenk fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bull looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Lenk scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Lenk misses with a double jab.
Bull walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Lenk works the jab nicely.
Lenk changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Lenk looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Lenk thuds his right hand into Bull's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Bull closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lenk lands the left hand.
Lenk lands a jab to the nose.
Bull takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Bull drops his hands momentarily and Lenk takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.


Bull is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bull uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lenk.
Bull changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Bull fails with the takedown.
Lenk fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Bull walks into a straight right hand from Lenk.
Lenk connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Bull momentarily.
Bull gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Lenk.
Oh Bull is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lenk connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Lenk lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bull circles away quickly and effectively.
Bull seems to have got his legs back now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lenk scores with a jab to the body.
Lenk is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Bull had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
A jab from Lenk does it's job there.
Bull seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lenk digs a good hook to Bull's body.
Lenk lands with a shot to the body.

Lenk gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bull to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Bull trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Bull with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Bull works over Lenk with some ground and pound from guard.
Bull stands up over Lenk, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Bull throwing strikes but missing.
Bull postures up in Lenk's guard and throws a big left but Lenk blocks it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lenk is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Bull actively working from the bottom here.
Bull tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Bull looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bull is not content to let Lenk control the position.
Bull wants to get back to full guard.

Bull looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Bull is looking for a sweep. Lenk is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Bull works his way to full guard. Good work.
Bull being controlled here, momentarily.

Lenk avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bull keeping moving, preventing Lenk from controlling successfully.

Bull working for a triangle but Lenk defends it easily.

Bull is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lenk is aware though and is defending well.

Bull looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Lenk is defending well. Bull quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Lenk has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Bull celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chief Bull!
Chief Bull tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
