The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Caugh has Kuster up against the cage in a clinch.
I was talking to Caugh's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Caugh tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kuster manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Caugh lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Caugh slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Kuster throws out a loose jab but Caugh uses good head movement to avoid it.

As Kuster looks to move away, Caugh throws a big counter combo but Kuster just gets out of the way.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Caugh's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kuster ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Caugh tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kuster looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Caugh pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A clash of legs there as Kuster blocks the low kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Caugh looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kuster might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Caugh moves away from the strike by Kuster.

and Kuster counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Caugh thinking.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Minor Caugh will probably get the nod.

That's time! Caugh's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Kuster throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Caugh's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Kuster dives in looking to finish as Caugh flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Kuster's strikes! Kuster is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Caugh's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Caugh was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
