The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taison dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Diego Taison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Taison thumps Lewis with a low kick.
Lewis moves into the clinch.
Taison is trying to break the clinch but Lewis is controlling him.

Lewis slips under a jab from Taison.
Taison throws a leg kick which misses Lewis's front leg but catches the back leg as Lewis tries to avoid it.

Lewis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Taison's waist but Taison gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lewis off to one side.

Taison fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Lewis on the side of the head.

Taison has momentary wrist control but Lewis slips an elbow through the middle.
Taison wants to stand and escape but Lewis is having none of it.

Taison throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Despite the aggression on Lewis's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

A telegraphed right hand from Taison misses the target.
A lazy left from Taison finds it's target.
Taison scores with a punch to the head.
Lewis displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Taison throws out the jab.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
