Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chins Gone (ranked 3273 p4p, 355 weight class) and Sparring Fighter 1 (ranked 3539 p4p, 378 weight class). Fighter 1 is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Lou Reed - The day John Kennedy Died. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 19 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Chins Gone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sparring Fighter 1!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fighter 1 throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gone attempts a counter takedown but Fighter 1 avoids it well and moves away.

Gone controls from within his opponent's guard.
Fighter 1 is looking to stand up but Gone isn't so interested in that idea.

Gone seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter 1 wants to stand and escape but Gone is having none of it.

Sparring Fighter 1 seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fighter 1 looks to land a left hand but Gone moved out of range nicely.
Fighter 1 pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Fighter 1 throws a lazy right hand but Gone sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Fighter 1 tries to keep at a distance but Gone has taken the fight into the clinch.

Gone throws an elbow but it misses.

Fighter 1 stops a takedown attempt from Gone.

Gone breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Gone has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Fighter 1 regains guard immediately.
Gone wants to pass the guard but Fighter 1 is keeping the position.
Fighter 1 wants to stand but Gone is controlling the position.
Gone tries to free his leg and advance position but Fighter 1 is retaining full guard.
Fighter 1 trying to keep a closed guard but Gone is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Fighter 1 wants to stand up but Gone is controlling him.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Gone seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Gone has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fighter 1 managing to block the knees to the body from Gone.
Fighter 1 wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Gone is working for takedown but Fighter 1 is calmly controlling the position for now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fighter 1 tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gone bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Horrible takedown attempt by Gone or perhaps it was just good defense by Fighter 1, which made it look bad.

Gone looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gone connects with a nice short shot to Fighter 1's temple.

Fighter 1 wants to improve his position but Gone is controlling well.
Gone tries to pass to full mount but Fighter 1 defends it.

Gone fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fighter 1 avoids it really well and circles away.

Gone has hold of one of Fighter 1's legs. Fighter 1 is fighting the takedown attempt but Gone gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Fighter 1 has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gone can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gone seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fighter 1 for as long as he can get away with.
