Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Will Brawler V (ranked 5845 p4p, 566 weight class) and Shjon Luis (ranked 5784 p4p, 562 weight class). Shjon Luis struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 187.4lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luis throws a lazy head kick
and Brawler V counters with a two punch combo.
Brawler V misses with an uppercut
and Luis counters with a shoot takedown. Brawler V fights it but they end up in guard.
Luis is standing up over Brawler V. Brawler V looks to escape but Luis dives into side control.
Luis controlling the position from side mount.
Brawler V is pushing Luis's head away, looking to escape. Luis manages to hold on to the position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Luis has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Luis seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Luis seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Luis content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Let's hope that Luis has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Luis passes the guard and advances to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Luis cracks Brawler V with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Luis lands a couple of good shots and Brawler V has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Luis throws the kick towards the body but Brawler V avoids it.
Brawler V throws a quick counter head kick but Luis was just out of range.
Luis has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Luis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brawler V's waist but Brawler V gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Luis off to one side.
Brawler V smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Brawler V leaves Luis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Luis moves out of range as Brawler V throws a body kick.
Luis blocks the body kick.
Brawler V throws a head kick that misses.
Brawler V throws a sloppy head kick and Luis moves out of range easily.
Luis wants to counter with a clinch but Brawler V pushes him away.
Brawler V plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Will Brawler V seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brawler V turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Brawler V tries to bum rush Luis with a series of wild strikes but Luis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Luis counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Luis.

Luis decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Luis throws a combination. Brawler V tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Luis wants to slow Brawler V down by chopping away at his legs.
Luis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Luis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Luis lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The referee warns Brawler V that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Brawler V is controlling an arm, preventing Luis from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Luis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Shjon Luis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Luis is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Luis winds up and cracks Brawler V with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The two fighters roll across the mat, with Brawler V trying to push Luis off... Brawler V taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
