Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Carter (ranked 2658 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jirair Torosian (ranked 8689 p4p, 0 weight class). Jirair Torosian will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, John Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jirair Torosian!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Torosian misses.
John Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slow jab from Torosian misses its intended target.
A looping hook to the body misses from Torosian. Carter does a little dance to reset his feet.
Carter fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Torosian throws a jab but it's blocked by Carter.
Carter gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Torosian cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Carter fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Torosian avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Carter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Torosian rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carter moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Carter scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Carter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Torosian keeps working.
Ground and pound from Carter.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Carter throwing shots but Torosian is blocking nicely.
Torosian really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Carter thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Torosian's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carter lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Carter landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Carter is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Torosian is not content to let Carter control the position.
Carter lands strikes from half guard.
Carter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Torosian with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Carter working over Torosian with some ground and pound. Torosian looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carter not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Carter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Carter has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Torosian is trying to stand.
Carter lands with some strikes.
A nice elbow there by Carter.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Carter lands a big elbow.
Torosian tries to buck Carter off but he can't manage it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carter pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Carter landing strikes from the mount and Torosian is in trouble!


Torosian is rocked!
Carter postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Torosian badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Carter around the waist but Carter pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Carter is the winner by TKO! Carter jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Carter!
John Carter thanked the fans post fight for their support.
