Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pedro Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rick Steamer!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Kavanagh and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steamer gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Slater counters by moving into the clinch.
Steamer is working for takedown but Slater is calmly controlling the position for now.
Steamer is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Pedro Slater has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Steamer.
Steamer tries for a takedown but Slater manages to get underhooks.
Slater tries to break the clinch but Steamer is controlling the position.

Steamer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Slater shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Steamer but Steamer pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Steamer dives in for a single leg takedown but Slater sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Slater really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Steamer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Steamer throws an elbow that misses. Slater uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Steamer's guard. Nice move by Slater!

Slater works over Steamer with some ground and pound from guard.
Slater has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Slater throws a big right hand that misses.

Steamer isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Slater stacks Steamer on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Slater!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Steamer avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Slater.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Slater stands up and beckons Steamer to his feet.

Steamer has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Slater after a bit of a struggle.

A looping hook to the body misses from Slater. Steamer does a little dance to reset his feet.

Rick Steamer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Slater tries to score a power double leg takedown but Steamer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Slater somewhat.

That was a close second round but I would say that Pedro Slater will probably get the nod.
