Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Juan Gonzalez (ranked 4838 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caleb Miles (ranked 8806 p4p, 0 weight class). Miles is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Drake - Started From The Bottom. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Juan Gonzalez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Caleb Miles!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Miles sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gonzalez somewhat.

Gonzalez gets caught flat footed, as Miles shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Miles works over Gonzalez with some ground and pound from guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miles in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Miles working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Gonzalez's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gonzalez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Miles wants to pass the guard but Gonzalez is keeping the position.

Gonzalez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Miles defends it easily.
Miles throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gonzalez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Miles drops back looking for a leg! Gonzalez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gonzalez manages to kick Miles off! Miles jumps back into Gonzalez's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Miles stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gonzalez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Miles stands up over Gonzalez, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Gonzalez is trying to keep Miles in close.
Miles tries to free his leg and advance position but Gonzalez is retaining full guard.
Miles wants to control from the top but Gonzalez keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Miles misses with a takedown attempt - Gonzalez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Gonzalez shoots in but Miles avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Miles tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Gonzalez fails with the takedown.
Miles looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Juan Gonzalez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gonzalez is breathing heavily.
Miles looks for a takedown but Gonzalez sprawls well.

Miles shoots in and gets a takedown into Gonzalez's guard.

Gonzalez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Miles postures up and lands a big shot to Gonzalez's brow.
Miles is working Gonzalez over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Miles really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gonzalez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Miles has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Miles shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Miles looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Miles stalling away here and it's allowed Gonzalez to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Gonzalez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Miles distracts Gonzalez with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Miles tries to free his leg and advance position but Gonzalez is retaining full guard.
Gonzalez controls Miles momentarily but Miles frees himself.
Miles wants to pass the guard but Gonzalez is keeping the position.
Miles is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Miles scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Miles drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gonzalez looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gonzalez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gonzalez!

Miles wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Miles is not content to let Gonzalez control the position.
Miles is trying to get back to his feet.
Gonzalez tries to score with some ground and pound. Miles controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Gonzalez has an Americana. Miles didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Gonzalez is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Gonzalez hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Juan Gonzalez!
In defeat, Caleb Miles stepped up to the mic, saying 'I let my coaches down, team down, I let myself down'.
