Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Shiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Palacios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shiro comes to the ring accompanied by Fist of the North Star - Opening. Palacios is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Journey - Don't Stop Believin'. Ken Shiro has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shiro shoots in but Palacios avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Shiro fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Palacios misses with an uppercut.
Shiro shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Shiro. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shiro keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Palacios.
Shiro tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Shiro takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Shiro slips under a jab from Palacios.
Palacios throws a low kick, looking for Shiro's leg but Shiro calmly moves out of range.
Shiro closes the distance and clinches up with Palacios, looking for a takedown. Shiro pushes Palacios against the ropes but Palacios circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Palacios goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Shiro slips under a jab.

Palacios tries to keep at a distance but Shiro has taken the fight into the clinch.

Shiro's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Palacios fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Palacios fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shiro manages to avoid it.
Shiro will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Shiro uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Palacios.

Shiro closes the distance and clinches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Palacios wants to break the clinch but can't.
Palacios has had enough of the clinch but Shiro keeps him there for the moment.
Palacios blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Shiro tries to score a body lock takedown but Palacios shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Shiro content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Palacios wants to get back to striking at distance but Shiro won't allow it.

Shiro's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Palacios jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Palacios throws out a loose jab but Shiro uses good head movement to avoid it.
Palacios lands a big uppercut and Shiro crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Shiro looks OK. Palacios waves Shiro back to his feet!
Shiro fails with a takedown attempt.
Hector Palacios is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Palacios lands with a shot to the body.
Shiro is breathing heavily.
Shiro slips a jab from Palacios.
Shiro misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Palacios lands with a hook. Shiro tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shiro is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Palacios doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Shiro crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Shiro's bad books for that mishap!
