Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tomasz Kownacki (ranked 3052 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francisco Marquez (ranked 3663 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Francisco Marquez!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Marquez checks a leg kick.
Marquez misses with a two punch combination.
Marquez misses with a head kick.

Marquez closes the distance and clinches.
Kownacki is looking to control Marquez's arms but Marquez gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kownacki has his back to the cage.

Marquez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kownacki misses with a series of wild punches.
Kownacki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Marquez paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Marquez misses with a kick to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kownacki shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Marquez is trying to defend but Kownacki finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Kownacki is working for a submission of some sort.
Marquez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kownacki's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kownacki's back!

Marquez has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kownacki has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kownacki turns into Marquez and is now in his guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Marquez is on top in guard.

Kownacki pulls Marquez in close to prevent any damage.

Kownacki is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Marquez is aware though and is defending well.
Kownacki wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Marquez is now in half guard.
Marquez tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Marquez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Marquez wants to stand up but Kownacki is controlling the position.

Kownacki is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kownacki is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Marquez is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Marquez shoots in looking for a takedown but Kownacki manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Marquez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Marquez circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kownacki's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Kownacki duly obliges.
Marquez throws a body punch but Kownacki moves out of range.
Marquez dives in and grabs Kownacki's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kownacki pushes down on Marquez's head and hops out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marquez tries to improve his position but instead Kownacki has taken his back!

Kownacki has got one arm under Marquez's chin. This could be trouble... Marquez trying to control the other hand but Kownacki gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Marquez has tapped out! The fight is over!
