Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cheikh Alkamid (ranked 3476 p4p, 296 weight class) and Aragon Macbeth (ranked 5113 p4p, 377 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alkamid rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Macbeth counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Alkamid throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Alkamid keeping full guard, as Macbeth tries to pass.

Macbeth passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Alkamid knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Macbeth on the ground.
Alkamid tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Macbeth presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Macbeth has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Macbeth working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Macbeth's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Alkamid connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Macbeth scrambles back to his feet.
Macbeth on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Alkamid throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A punch lands to the side of Macbeth 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Alkamid cracks Macbeth with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Macbeth fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Alkamid avoids it really well and circles away.

Macbeth shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Alkamid pinned against the cage. Alkamid gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Alkamid counters with a left and a right that stings Macbeth.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Macbeth tries to score a power double leg takedown but Alkamid sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Macbeth somewhat.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Alkamid, as that shot connected.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Alkamid misses with a hook. Macbeth ducked under it nicely.
Alkamid works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Alkamid loads up on a big right hand but Macbeth slips the punch.
Horrible takedown attempt by Macbeth or perhaps it was just good defense by Alkamid, which made it look bad.
