Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ezequiel Forbes (ranked 8645 p4p, 0 weight class) and Horacio Ramirez (ranked 5643 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ezequiel Forbes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Horacio Ramirez!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez tries to clinch up.
It looked like Forbes was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Ramirez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Forbes trying to strike off his back.
Ramirez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Forbes is keeping the position for now.

Forbes looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Forbes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ramirez is aware though and is defending well.

Forbes tries to strike from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ramirez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Forbes swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Forbes avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Forbes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Ramirez forces his way into half guard.
Forbes is looking to improve his position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Ramirez working over Forbes with some ground and pound. Forbes looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Forbes works his way to full guard. Good work.
Forbes is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ramirez is controlling him.
Ramirez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Forbes thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Ramirez stands and throws Forbes's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ramirez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Forbes keeps working.

Ramirez is trying to get an arm triangle but Forbes is defending well.
Forbes manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Ramirez wants to control but Forbes is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Ramirez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Forbes is working for an americana but Ramirez has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Forbes was thinking about the submission.

Forbes stands up from Ramirez's guard - Forbes perhaps looking for a knockout.

Ramirez darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Forbes is controlling Ramirez's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Ramirez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Forbes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ramirez.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ramirez is looking to stall here but Forbes recovers full guard.

That's time! Forbes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Ramirez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Forbes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Forbes is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ramirez asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Ramirez looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Ramirez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Forbes is trying to control Ramirez's posture but Ramirez avoids it.
Forbes parries the strikes from Ramirez easily there. Ramirez is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Forbes to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Forbes wants to control but Ramirez postures up.

Ramirez swings around for an armbar but Forbes sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Ramirez's guard.

Ramirez is breathing heavily.

Ramirez throws his legs up looking for a submission but Forbes uses it to pass to side control.

Ramirez is looking for a sweep.

Forbes is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ramirez has escaped the position, nice work there.
Ramirez is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Ramirez on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Ramirez is letting Forbes control him for a moment.

Forbes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ramirez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ramirez is looking for a sweep.

Forbes tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Forbes has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Forbes tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Forbes gets caught flat footed, as Ramirez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ezequiel Forbes will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Excellent takedown into side control there by Ramirez.
Forbes tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Forbes is not content to let Ramirez control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Forbes wants to control but Ramirez postures up.

Ramirez stands up.
Forbes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Forbes tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ramirez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Forbes somewhat.

Forbes closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Ramirez has one foot on Forbes's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Forbes flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Forbes enables Ramirez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Forbes manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Forbes is working an open guard so Ramirez takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Ramirez gets a takedown into half guard.
Forbes on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Ramirez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Well, if Ramirez is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Horacio Ramirez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ramirez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
