Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Custavo Ramos (ranked 25336 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masaya Kubo (ranked 3433 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Custavo Ramos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Masaya Kubo!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramos shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kubo pinned against the cage. Kubo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ramos will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Kubo tries to keep at a distance but Ramos has taken the fight into the clinch.
Ramos has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kubo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Ramos has Kubo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kubo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Ramos tries to break free but Kubo pushes him back against the cage.

Kubo creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Kubo tries to pull guard but Ramos forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Ramos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kubo wants to stand but Ramos is controlling his posture from full guard.

Kubo stays in close to Ramos's body and controls the position.
Ramos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kubo on the ground.

Kubo tries to pull guard but Ramos holds him up against the cage and eventually Kubo drops back down to his feet.

Kubo is looking to control Ramos's arms but Ramos gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kubo has his back to the cage.

Ramos could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Kubo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kubo showed some decent athleticism there.
Kubo wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ramos tries to kick Kubo off but Kubo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Kubo is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ramos wants to get back to full guard.
Ramos pushes Kubo off looking to stand but Kubo dives back in and keeps control.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ramos is desperately trying to improve his position but Kubo has a good base and remains in mount.
Kubo thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

No luck with that takedown attempt from Kubo.
Ramos lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kubo backs up against the cage.

Kubo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ramos misses with the combination.
Kubo throws a counter combo.
Nice takedown defense from Ramos. No joy for Kubo on that attempt.

Kubo dives in and grabs Ramos's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ramos pushes down on Kubo's head and hops out.

Ramos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kubo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ramos defends it nicely.

Ramos moves into the clinch successfully.
Ramos is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kubo gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Kubo jumps guard but Ramos turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Kubo gets control of Ramos's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kubo will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Ramos decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Kubo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ramos is looking to clinch but Kubo is avoiding it.

Kubo wants a takedown but no success here.
Kubo tries to pull guard but Ramos won't allow it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kubo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ramos doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ramos manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ramos wants to control from the top but Kubo keeps moving.

That was a close second round but I would say that Custavo Ramos will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Kubo is trying to drag Ramos to the mat but Ramos just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Ramos jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kubo walks away with a smile on his face. Ramos gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Horrible takedown attempt by Ramos or perhaps it was just good defense by Kubo, which made it look bad.

Kubo darts in looking for a takedown but Ramos gets double underhooks and turns Kubo into the cage.
Ramos keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Kubo throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Danga de danga de dang - Kubo scores with a four punch combination!
Kubo misses with an attempted mid kick.
Ramos shoots in for a takedown but Kubo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
And Kubo tries to counter it with a takedown but Ramos pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Ramos tries to land a leg kick but Kubo saw it coming and moves away.

Kubo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Ramos dives in for a single leg takedown but Kubo sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Ramos takes the fight into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ramos gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Kubo has control of Ramos's left arm, preventing Ramos from doing any damage.

Ramos wants to stand but Kubo is controlling his posture from full guard.
Ramos looking to sit in guard and control but Kubo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ramos is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kubo defends well.

And that's the end of the fight!
Masaya Kubo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kubo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
