PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lauro Turturro (ranked 390 p4p, 63 weight class) and Rod Huricane (ranked 1496 p4p, 233 weight class). Rod Huricane told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rod Huricane!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Huricane finds it's way through Turturro's defenses.
Turturro shoots and misses
and Huricane counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Turturro has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Huricane is trying to keep an underhook but Turturro manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Turturro uses his free foot to push down on Huricane's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Huricane.

Turturro looking for a guillotine from mount but Huricane is having none of it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Huricane tries to hold on but Turturro pushes him away.

Turturro quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Turturro but it's paid off an Huricane is forced to tap! Nice work by Turturro.

Lauro Turturro decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
