Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harri Vahva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slim Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Vahva might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Hammerfall - Let the Hammer Fall. Harri Vahva has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vahva throws a right hand that Charles ducks under and follows up with a left that Charles also avoids with ease.
Charles moves out of range as Vahva strikes.
Charles shoots for a takedown but Vahva saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A slow jab from Vahva misses its intended target.
Vahva misses with a wild body shot.
Charles pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Charles slips a jab and a cross from Vahva.

Charles slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Charles advances position into side control!
Vahva tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Charles decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Charles darts in and clinches Vahva up against the ropes.

Charles breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Vahva is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

It looks like Harri Vahva has been cut.
Charles misses with a kick to the body.
Charles has a takedown stuffed.
Charles fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A jab from Vahva finds it's way through Charles's defenses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vahva swats away the attempt to clinch by Charles.
Charles takes a swing at Vahva's ribcage but misses.

Charles moves into the clinch successfully.
Vahva looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Charles breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Charles wants to clinch up but Vahva keeps it at a distance.
Vahva lands with a cross.

It looks like Slim Charles has been cut.
Vahva drops Charles with a big left hand and mounts him. Charles is in big trouble!
Charles looks gassed!
Vahva lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Charles is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Vahva working the ground and pound effectively.
Vahva in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Charles bucks up and throws Vahva to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!

Vahva scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Vahva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Charles on the ground.
Charles tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Vahva will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Vahva lands an elbow.
Charles is trying to escape the position but Vahva is controlling the position.

Vahva misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Charles is not content to let Vahva control the position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Charles wants to get back to his feet.
Charles tries to improve position but can't.
Charles taking a bit of punishment here - Vahva scoring with strikes.
Vahva throws a strike aimed at the side of Charles's head but Charles avoids it well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Charles blocks a jab.

Charles closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Vahva is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Charles off and has taken his back!

Oooh a big shot gets through from Vahva. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Will Vahva go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Charles is really stuck here.
Charles covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Vahva is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Vahva gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Vahva gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Vahva apologises and we restart here on the feet.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Vahva throws a looping overhand right but Charles ducks down to avoid it.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

and Charles counters with a nice body kick.
Vahva is looking to land body kicks.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Charles.
Charles tries to clinch up but Vahva circles away and keeps his distance.

Charles closes the distance and pushes Vahva back into the ropes.

Charles pulls Vahva into guard.
Charles bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vahva's guard.

Vahva throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Charles stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Vahva tests Charles's chin there with a solid looking shot.
No joy there for Vahva, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Charles misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Harri Vahva is winning the standup battle so far.
Charles thuds a left hand into Vahva's body.
Charles ducks under a wild hook from Vahva.

Charles drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Charles landing strikes.

Charles decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Charles looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Vahva!

Charles wants to finish this one by submission but Vahva is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Charles.

Vahva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Charles lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Vahva!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Charles cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

That's time! Vahva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Charles is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Vahva gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Charles has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vahva is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Harri Vahva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Slim Charles.

Charles tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Vahva just stands there and leans against the ropes.

Vahva misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Vahva is looking to break free of the clinch but Charles has double underhooks.
Charles's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Charles is leaning against Vahva and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Vahva wants to break the clinch but can't.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Charles's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Charles is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Vahva will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Charles uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Vahva.
Charles lands with a kick to the temple. Vahva shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Vahva blocks a head kick by Charles.
Charles takes a jab right on the kisser.
Vahva tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Charles counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Charles stops Vahva from getting back to his feet.

Charles takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Vahva wants to sweep here but Charles controlling him for the moment.

Charles wants to control from the top but Vahva keeps moving.
Vahva throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Vahva is looking to sweep but instead, Charles has passed into half guard.
Vahva misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Charles gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Vahva throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Charles is looking to clinch but Vahva is avoiding it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Charles tries a head kick but it misses.
Charles shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Charles avoids the body shot from Vahva.
Charles throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vahva's waist but Vahva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Charles off to one side.
Charles tries to close the distance and clinch but Vahva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Vahva misses with a straight left.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Charles!
Charles shoots in looking for a takedown. Vahva tries to sprawl out of it but Charles keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Vahva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Charles closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vahva circles away.
Vahva misses with a combination

and Charles counters with a single leg into guard. Vahva didn't expect that.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Charles controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Vahva trying to keep a closed guard but Charles is proving a slippery customer.

Slim Charles comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
